Yoga Inspiration

I came to yoga at a time when I felt very broken, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I continue returning to my mat to heal, connect, and grow. I teach yoga because of the profound effects a regular practice has had on my life. As a teacher I bear witness to breakthroughs, breakdowns, strength, growth, setbacks, hurting, healing, and most importantly connection…connection to oneself and connection to the consciousness that none of us are in this alone; we are all interconnected.

I truly believe yoga is for everyone. Not every type of yoga or teacher is for everyone, but yoga, the union of mind, body, and soul, is for everyone. Through my own practice and witnessing my students’ practices through injuries, illnesses, and the big and little hurdles life throws at us, I have learned that everyone’s practice looks different, and every day looks and feels different.

If you are questioning whether yoga is for you, questioning yourself or your inner strength, or just in need of some inspiration, I invite you to read the stories in the link below.

About DjunaPassman

I practice and teach yoga. I attempt to carry what I learn on my mat and through my students into the real world. Sometimes I am successful and sometimes I am grumpy and less than kind. I started life as a dancer, moved on to choreographing, worked as a dance/movement therapist, then realized the wonders of a regular yoga practice. I am a realist - whether the glass is half full or half empty you are bound to spill its contents if you are wearing white (this is why I wear black so often). I am not an expert on yoga, life, or anything else for that matter. I do my best to keep my mind and my heart open every day (some days are better than others).
